Mahogany Messenger – June 22nd 

Dear Mahogany Families, 

On behalf of all our staff, thank you for your support this year and of course, for your amazing kids. As we head into the last week of the 2025-26 school year with students, we want to express our appreciation for your engagement and partnership here at Mahogany School. 

As we look ahead to the 2026-27 school year, the teachers and staff have been working to support student transitions and last week, students had the opportunity to visit a non-specific ‘next year classroom’ for a visit, ask questions and share their excitement and worries. Our teachers did a wonderful job welcoming students into their classroom spaces for this purpose. Please note, parents and guardians will receive a welcome email from your child’s next year’s teacher in late August, when the school re-opens. This welcome email will contain important information about the first day of school procedures and helpful information. 

Report Cards Available on Thursday, June 25th 

Parents, your child’s report card will be available for viewing through your MyCBE PowerSchool Account on Thursday, June 25th – July 31st. If your child’s learning is supported through an IPP, you will receive a copy of this tomorrow, if you have not already. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you would like to arrange a time to meet with them to discuss the IPP before returning the final signature page. Each child’s IPP includes a comprehensive transition plan designed to support next year’s transition. 

Grades 2 & 4 Talent Show – June 24th 

We are very much looking forward to the Grade 2 & Grade 4 Talent Show this week! Parents, thanks to all who have supported your child to share their talent with the school community or supported them to demonstrate respect and care as audience members during the showcase. We appreciate your support! 

Last Day of School – June 26th 

Friday, June 26th is the last day of school for students this year. We look forward to welcoming students back on August 31, 2026.

2026-27 School Hours 

For the 2026-27 school year, instructional hours remain the same – with instruction beginning at 8:00 am and dismissal at 2:30 pm Mon-Thurs and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Fridays. To increase student opportunities to access the playground and other play spaces over the lunch hour, we will have two distinct lunch hours for students.

  • 7:45 – 8:00 Soft Entry 
  • 8:00 – 2:30 (Monday – Thursday)
  • 8:00 – 12:00 (Fridays)

Grades 1 & 2 Lunch hour 

  • 11:00 – 11:38 

Grades 3-5 Lunch hour 

  • 11:40 – 12:18 

Kindergarten (AM Classes) 

  • 7:45 – 8:00 Soft Entry 
  • 8:00 – 10:50 (Monday – Thursday)
  • 8:00 – 12:00 (Fridays)
