Mahogany Messenger – April 20th
Dear Mahogany Families,
We hope you enjoyed some of the beautiful weather this weekend! We were proud of all our bussing students who did an excellent job during the bus evacuation drill led by First Student last Wednesday. The older students supported the younger ones and Mrs. Hewitt, and I appreciated the opportunity for students to practice this annual drill. We were also very proud of our Grade 5 students on Friday who did an excellent job demonstrating respect and curiosity with Mr. Fero from Lakeshore Middle School and the team from Nickle School. This week, our morning Kindergarten and Grade 3 students will see a high school drama performance. We look forward to hosting these drama students at Mahogany and appreciate their willingness to share their talents with our students!
Celebrating Support Staff this week
Throughout the week at Mahogany School and throughout the CBE, our Support Staff will be celebrated and honored for their work supporting students, teachers and our school community. We are grateful at Mahogany to have many amazing Educational Assistants, Lunchroom Supervisors, Admin Staff, a fantastic Library Assistant and of course our awesome Facility Operator, Mr. Rico and his team of cleaners who work so hard at Mahogany School.
Reminders – Fun Lunch & Professional Learning Day this week!
Thank you to our parent volunteer and lunchroom supervisors for organizing the Fun Lunch from Mucho Burrito this week. Reminder – there is a Professional Learning Day for teachers on Friday; therefore, there is no school for students. We look forward to this day of learning together around CBE’s Holistic Lifelong Learning Framework and understanding the importance of land-based learning to improve wellbeing and deepen student understanding of land-based Science outcomes.
Spring Musical Update
It’s been pretty incredible to see the progress around the set, choir and actor practices. We are grateful to our teachers volunteering their time and enthusiasm, parents contributing materials for set design, and of course our talented students for their commitment to this production!
Sincerely,
Jill Scarrow & Christine Hewitt
