Dear Mahogany Families,
With only a few weeks left of the 2025-26 school year, we hope that your families are all well and ready for another busy week at Mahogany School. It was a lot of fun to see the student participation in Spirit Week last week – creative ideas clearly shone through! We postponed Sports Day at Mahogany School last week due to cool and wet weather and hope that our week is a bit brighter for this event.
School Council & Mahogany School Fundraising Association Wraps Up for the 2025-26 School Year
Thank you very much to all the parents & guardians who were able to attend meetings this year. We are grateful to hear your input and see your engagement with our school community. Our first Council Meeting of the year will be in September, and we will continue to host meetings on the first Tuesday of the month moving forward. Some exciting things already planned for the 2026-27 School Year:
- Meet the Teacher & Back to School BBQ
- Mahogany School’s Casino fundraiser (our biggest fundraiser of the year!)
Calgary Public Library’s Ultimate Summer Reading Challenge!
The CPL’s free Summer Reading Challenge starts on July 1st and runs through the first day of school (August 31st, 2026). If you’d like more information, please see here. Thank you to Mrs. Brown for organizing staff from the Seaton Library to stop by this week and inspire our Grade 4 students with some more info!
Grade 2 In-School Field Trips
Some of our Grade 2 classes will participate in their in-class field trips around taking care of bees within our community this week. Thank you, parent volunteers! Reminder to please find the fee for this experience in your MyCBE PowerSchool account.
Grade 5 Farewell – Thursday @ 1:15 pm
We are very much looking forward to celebrating our Grade 5 students at Mahogany School this Thursday afternoon. Thank you very much to the parent volunteer committee who has helped organize this event with Mr. Harney, Ms. Lane, Ms. Hong & Mrs. Quilley. Doors will open at 1:00 pm for Grade 5 parents and family members and the assembly will begin at 1:15.
Outstanding School Fees
Before the school year ends, families are asked to review and pay outstanding school fee balances through their MyCBE account. Any outstanding fees may be sent to collections if unpaid after 180 days.
Lunch Supervision 2026-2027
Families of students in Grades 1–6 are now able to register for Lunch Supervision service for the 2026–2027 school year. Registration is available through MyCBE. Registration for kindergarten families will be available for families by the end of August 2026. Please see the Lunch Supervision Manual for Families.
Apply for Transportation
Families must apply by the deadline for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year. Late applications will mean students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space and it may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus. Registration is available through your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, learn how.)
