Mahogany Messenger – June 1, 2026

Dear Mahogany Families,

Thank you to all who joined our Bike Parade last week. It was awesome to see so many students and parents that morning riding to school with the Calgary Police, Mrs. Theberge and some of our other teachers. If you missed it, check out some of the highlights here.

We also hope that for those who joined the volunteer tea on Friday, you enjoyed the entertainment and treats. Mrs. Bourgeois and our teachers did an excellent job organizing the morning. Volunteers – thank you for all that you do for the Mahogany School community! You can check out some of the offsite learning around the importance of water that our Gr. 4 students engaged in at Heritage Park with our volunteers last week here and here. Lastly, thank you to the new & familiar families who joined us last week for the Kindergarten Orientation. We are thrilled to be welcoming your children next year.

Grades 2 & 4 Mini-Talent Shows – Mon & Tues this Week

Mrs. Henderson-McDade looks forward to hosting the mini-talent shows for Grades 2 & 4 students this week in music class. Please ensure students have their materials with them if they plan to perform. We look forward to June 24th to see selected students perform for the school. Please email djhenderson@cbe.ab.ca with any questions. Thank you!

School Council Meeting – Tuesday Evening @ 6:00 pm

Parents, please join us for our final School Council & MSFA meetings for the school year this Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm. All parents & guardians who have children enrolled at Mahogany School are automatically members of School Council and we would love to have you join us.

Preparing for a Wet Week Ahead

Parents, thank you in advance for ensuring your child is dressed for the cool, wet weather this week! Students will be outside playing and learning as much as possible and need proper outerwear to have fun, and to stay warm and dry.

Parking & Drop Off – Respecting the Bus Zone

We understand and acknowledge the ongoing challenges for parents around morning drop off, due to high traffic volume and our large bussing zone. Please note – we have five different busses that bring children to school and there is no stopping allowed in the designated bus zone. This ensures safe drop off for these students. Our teachers and staff supervising the bus zone do an excellent job organizing and supervising this area and appreciate courteous and respectful interactions as they prioritize the safety of our students. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Sincerely,

Jill Scarrow & Christine Hewitt
