Mahogany Messenger – March 2nd

Dear Mahogany Families,

Thank you to all families supporting Mahogany School’s Readathon. Last week we were grateful to host Ryan Lomberg from the Calgary Flames to read to the students, share the importance of reading, and share some of his favorites with us. Many students are talking about the books they are reading (and enjoying!) and how they are setting goals for themselves. Students have also been doing some buddy reading at school with each other. This is the final week for the Readathon and parents, we are so grateful for your support! Please note, pledges and money are due this Friday. Here are a few fun offerings this week:

  • Monday – bring a small stuffie to read with
  • Wednesday – wear your PJs to school

Thank you in advance to all parents who have worked to gather and donate gift card prizes and who will be counting the pledges and organizing this portion of the fundraiser. We couldn’t do it without you!

Thank you to the parents who joined us for the Grade 4 field trip to Telus Spark last week. Students were excited to talk about their favorite parts of the day and are looking forward to their next learning steps back in their classrooms. You can see some of the learning here.

School Council Meeting – Tuesday Evening @ 6:00 pm

Please join us for our School Council Meeting this Tuesday. The Mahogany School Fundraising Association will meet directly after. Mrs. Bourgeois will be joining us to share our Teacher Report with School Council. An agenda will be emailed to parents in advance. All parents & guardians are welcome.

Grade 3 Offsite Learning – Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra – Thursday

Thank you to Mrs. Bourgeois and the Grade 3 teachers for organizing this offsite learning experience. Students will enjoy the powerful experience of an orchestra and deepen their understanding of how music communicates mood, story, and cultural expression. Thanks, parent volunteers, for joining.

Parent Teacher Conferences – March 19th and 20th

Parents, please note, booking your Parent Teacher Conference (15-min meeting with your child’s teacher) is done through your MyCBE PowerSchool account. The system opens on Thursday, March 12th.

Please note - Kindergarten Conference dates will be extended to accommodate all families. Please see times and dates available for booking with Mrs. Part, Mrs. Escobedo and Mrs. Hingston when logging into PowerSchool on March 12th.
