Mahogany Messenger – March 9th, 2026  

Dear Mahogany Families,  

Last week, the CBE sent communication around the overflow designation changes for our school. You can read more information on our website here. Please email our school office with any changes in your child’s enrollment for the 2026-27 school year because you have moved out of Mahogany or know your child will not be attending with us next year. Please note, if you live within Mahogany School boundaries and your child is currently in attendance and entering Grades 1-5 for the 2026-27 school year, they will automatically be placed into a classroom here at Mahogany School.  

Parent Teacher Conferences – March 19th and 20th  

Parents, booking your Parent Teacher Conference is done through your MyCBE PowerSchool account. The system opens on Thursday, March 12th. Please note - Kindergarten Conference dates will be extended to accommodate all families. Please see times and dates available for booking with Mrs. Part, Mrs. Escobedo, and Mrs. Hingston when logging into PowerSchool on March 12th.  

Readathon Update – Way to Go Mahogany School!  

We want to extend a huge thank you to all families who supported our school’s Readathon. Our volunteers have been working hard to count the donations and funds raised. We are still accepting pledge forms and donations if your child was absent on Friday or forgot to bring them to school. Thank you!  

The current total for this year’s Readathon is $27,398.90! Way to go, Mahogany families!  

We want to honor and recognize all student’s hard work and commitment to improving their reading skills and enjoyment of literacy learning throughout the Readathon. It has been exciting to hear students speaking about their goals, and what they are reading, with us and with each other!  

Thank You Parent Volunteers 

Thank you to the parents who joined us for the Grade 3 field trip last week. The students enjoyed their experience at the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, and we are grateful to Mrs. Bourgeois and the Grade 3 teachers for organizing this offsite learning experience. Please see some of the learning here. Thank you in advance to the parent volunteers who will be attending the rescheduled Zoo trip with Mrs. Lewendon & Mrs. Ries this Thursday.  

Ongoing Collaboration with CBE Transportation & the City of Calgary  

Parents and guardians please know that we continue to engage in ongoing conversations around the safety of our students, staff and community members with CBE Transportation and The City of Calgary. The work that various stakeholders and our school staff have taken up around traffic, parking, drop-off and requesting proper permanent signage is extensive. We are awaiting updates around our most recent requests, and will keep you informed, as information becomes available. Thank you to the parents who continue to choose safety over convenience. Our website includes more information.
