Mahogany Messenger – May 11th

Wishing all of our amazing Mahogany moms a wonderful Mother’s Day! We are grateful for all that you do to support your children and our school community. Thanks again to all parents and family members who supported Mahogany School’s Spring Musical. We are so proud of all of the students and their commitment to the production. Parents, your support was essential to the success of the evening. Thanks, also to our parent volunteers who helped out with Fun Snack & our Grade 2 classroom communities last week with their felting projects. Check out some of that learning here.

Offsite Learning Experiences This Week

It’s another busy week at Mahogany School with offsite learning experiences including swimming lessons for our Grades 2 & 3 students. Thank you, volunteers and parents for supporting this important learning experience for our students. Our Grade 4 students will be heading out to the Shepard Landfill this week and our Kindergarten students will be adventuring to Granary Road! Parents, please note the Kindergarten changes to instructional times due to the field trips.

Come & Celebrate Grade 4 Learning at Telus Spark!

We are excited to share that our Grade 4 students will be celebrating their prototypes on Tuesday, May 12 at TELUS Spark. Over the past several weeks, students have been working hard through the design thinking process to create hands-on exhibits for others to explore. The celebration will run from 6:00–8:00 PM, with students needing to arrive earlier for setup from 5:00–6:00 PM. This is a parented event, so students must be accompanied by an adult for the evening. We are also pleased to invite all family and friends to attend and experience the creativity and effort students have put into their projects. Please note – there is no fee to attend.

~ Grade 4 Teachers

Thank You, CPS!

Thanks to the Calgary Police Officers who come to visit our Kindergarten students last week to talk about being community helpers who help to keep us safe. Students and their teachers have been engaged in some awesome learning. During the visit, students got to hear all about the brave & important work of police officers & catch a glimpse of the officer’s vehicle (which was very exciting).

Thank you for helping us Reach for the Stars!

Parents, thank you for all of your volunteering this year. You are very much appreciated. Please join us for our Volunteer Tea on Friday, May 29th from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Please RSVP here to save your spot. RSVPs will be collected until May 22nd.

School Council & MSFA Updates

Thank you to those who were able to join us for our School Council & MSFA AGM Meetings last Thursday. We are grateful to have an awesome Executive in place for the upcoming school year. Our final meeting of the school year in June. Please consider joining us. All parents are automatically members of Mahogany School Council.
