Bike Safety & Wheel Week – Thank You for Reinforcing Safety Precautions

It’s been incredible to see the number of students riding their bikes and scooters to school in recent weeks! Parents, thank you for helping us reinforce precautions around road safety. Mrs. Theberge has been reviewing bike safety with students and reinforcing safety precautions with all classes. Here are a few resources for your families to check out:

We are grateful for Mrs. Theberge’s leadership around organizing ‘Wheel Week’ and the Bike Parade event this Monday morning. Please note: Calgary Police Officers will be in attendance to help with the Bike Parade and will be here, onsite at Mahogany that morning, to distribute water bottles to students. CPS may have some of their social media team taking photos or video at the Rock Park that morning. 

Welcome to Kindergarten – 2026-27 Families – Wednesday May 27th 

We are thrilled to be welcoming all our new (and familiar!) 2026-27 Kindergarten Families to the Orientation this Wednesday evening. Mrs. Part, Mrs. Escobedo, and Mrs. Hingston have prepared a welcome, a few introductory activities as well as a special gift to share with every child & family joining our school community next year. We look forward to seeing you then! Please note the designated time for your family to attend in the email sent. 

Volunteer Tea – Friday, May 29th @ 10:30 – 11:30 am 

We are looking forward to celebrating and showing gratitude to all our parents, guardians and family members who spend time at Mahogany School volunteering. Whether it is attending our School Council or MSFA meetings, supervising on field trips or at the swimming pool, or coming by to help distribute Fun Snack for students, please know that we appreciate your time & commitment to our school community. 

Please note – doors open at 10:15 am and you will be welcomed into the gym for the morning’s program. Thank you to Mrs. Bourgeois and the Volunteer Tea committee for hosting this special event. 

Reminder – School Fees are Available to be paid in PowerSchool

Parents & guardians, this is a gentle reminder to please ensure School Fees for your child are paid through your CBE MyCBE PowerSchool Account. School Fees are in place for students to be able to experience off-site learning experiences and engage in on-site classroom enhancements such as, working with artists. Thank you! 

Reminder – Lake Shore Open House – Thursday @ 6:00 pm

For all Grade 5 parents and guardians who have children attending Lake Shore School next year, please note that the Open House will take place this Thursday evening at 6:00 pm. Doors open at 5:45 pm. 

Gr. 4 Students – Offsite Learning Experience this Week 

Thank you to all the volunteers who will be helping this week during the Gr. 4 field trips to Heritage Park. Students will be engaging in learning outcomes related to both Science and Social Studies outcomes. Thank you to our Gr. 4 team of teachers for organizing and arranging this experience for students.
