Hello Mahogany Families,
Inspiration| “Don’t be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.”-R. Bach
As I prepare to begin my new role as the Area 5 System Principal, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we have taken together. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to open this beautiful school and help “build” not only a school culture, but the unfolding story of Mahogany School. From year one through year four, each chapter has been rich with purpose, connection, and joy. Being part of this story from the very beginning is something I will always treasure.
We started with a simple but powerful question: What is our story?
Together, we answered it—day by day, moment by moment—as we built a community of learners and a place where everyone belongs. Getting to know families, connecting with students, and creating memorable experiences has been one of the great gifts of my career.
I will never forget our early “Principal Pop-Ups in the Park,” our opening days, kindergarten orientation outside on the other side of the safety fencing too, steel toed boots, hard hats and the excitement of stepping inside the school for the very first time and the look of awe on the students’ faces that this was thier space. I remember the energy and pride that came with designing and building our playground—a space created with care, imagined joy, and filled with laughter and dance parties ever since. Though our school has grown, and grown, and grown again, we have remained a small and connected community at heart. That is the magic that is Mahogany School.
When I walk through our halls and hear the laughter, the learning, and the stories being written every day, I am reminded just how special this place truly is. Leaving is not easy. In fact, it is incredibly hard. But I do so knowing that this school—our school—is in remarkable hands, and that the Mahogany Story will continue to unfold beautifully, year by year, chapter by chapter.
So instead of goodbye, I will say farewell. I look forward to hearing how the story continues and to celebrating everything that is yet to come for this extraordinary school community.
With deep gratitude and warmest wishes,
❤️
Tracy
