Hello Mahogany Families,

It has been another week filled with a flurry of activity! Wetland walks, outdoor Phys Ed, Middle School Transition planning and in-school field trips ... and so much learning too!  We are so excited to see how your assessment work has grown and in hearing all of the success stories from the writing work you have been doing! These kids are SO lucky to have you all as teachers and supports.

As we head into the last 7 weeks with students, there are so many things that we face. The weather is nice, students are excited, many of them have entered spring activities (sports, arts) and bedtimes have changed – also, it is now light outside until well after 9:00pm which is great and also different. May and June can be challenging with all of these changes, and we know that this time of year can become stressful for students on top of it all as they begin to anticipate the end of the year and the changes that summer will bring. We appreciate all the work you are doing to help students navigate these days. As a staff, we may all have different roles and titles, but we are all together in the role of teacher when it comes to the kids – Thank you all for all you do!

Ongoing Fundraisers

There are many ways you can contribute to the school's fundraising through everyday initiatives. Check out the list of ongoing initiatives here:

Read A Thon

May 5-23 students will be asked to participate in this school-wide event. The goal is helping students build on their reading skills, foster a love of reading and raise money to support the students at our school. Comprehensive information will be sent out.

 Healthy Hunger

Students can order one Fun Lunch (Grade 1 to 5) and one Fun Snack (all students) each month. To order, visit www.healthyhunger.ca and create your account. Orders must be placed 6 days prior to the delivery date.

Fun lunches and Snack days are not possible without the help of volunteers. If you have your CBE clearance and annual volunteer registration, we would love your help.
