Hello Mahogany Families,
Thank you all attending our Teacher Led Conferences and sharing your child(ren)’s progress and learning. We hope you had a chance to connect with other families and take a tour around the school – it looks amazing with all the students’ work and learning showcased. We are grateful for all the conversations to have had with all our families.
It is hard to believe we are heading into December this week – time has been flying by for sure. I wanted to thank you all for your support as I step into the Area System Principal Role for the next few weeks. I am excited for this new adventure and look forward to supporting Area 5 Principals and schools. While it is always hard to be away from our Mahogany Family, I know that you will be in the best of hands as we welcome Mr. Mike Hebenton as Acting Principal at Mahogany in my absence. Some of you will know Mr. Hebenton from Riverbend School. Mr. Hebenton is a perfect fit to take over and support you all as he will bring his vast knowledge and experience, previous relationships and of course build new ones with all of you who have not met him yet. Mr. Hebenton will be starting at Mahogany on Monday afternoon to do some transition planning with Mrs. Kohan. I know he is looking forward to this adventure too.
We have a lot on the go over the next three weeks before break and we just want to remind you that we are here for you and know that you will be busy keeping the learning going for all our students as we head toward the break. Winter Break can be a stressful time and while there is always a lot to be grateful for, there can often be stressors that impact us at this time of year as well. Reach out, we are a community and connected.
Take Care,
❤️
Tracy and Christine

Concert Updates
Our Winter Concert is quickly approaching. We are hosting a total of 6 Concerts to accommodate families, and we are excited to share the amazing musical talents and production that Mrs. Bourgeois has been working on with the students!
We will have additional information coming out this week regarding how to access your tickets. Please watch for a separate email.
We anticipate that families will go into their MyCBE account and “Purchase” the tickets for their children. There will be a limit of 2 tickets per student. Tickets are free. Once you have “purchased” your free tickets you will be provided with a barcode ticket, and this is what we will be checking to enter the concerts. Tickets are only required for the evening concerts. Please note that toddlers and babies require a ticket. This is about the number of bodies in the gym, not the number of chairs. We must adhere to our Fire Code for the Gym and safety always comes first.
We understand that this may be a challenge for some families, and we have provided some options for the afternoon concert for which there is no limit or ticket required and toddlers, babies, grandparents etc. are welcome to attend. The afternoon concert will be exactly the same as the evening concert, so we encourage you to attend these events if you want to bring additional family members.
