Hello Mahogany Families,

Today is the first day of December and we are heading into a season, no matter what your traditions and celebrations, where we are bombarded by commercials, messages, asks, needs and all the things! It is often difficult to discern our needs and wants and challenging to keep focused on what is important with so many competing priorities. This week Dr. Jody Carrington started her December challenge and today is all about Gratitude. When we give ourselves permission to breathe and take time to think about what we are grateful for it allows us to re-center ourselves. Take some time with yourself this weekend and remind yourself where gratitude lives for you. We are grateful for all of you!

Connection Corner

• Thank you to the City of Calgary Police and Parking Authority for supporting our complex traffic and parking needs and helping remind us what the rules and safety pieces are at Mahogany School.

School Improvement Results Report and School Development Plan

Each year schools create a School Development Plan (SDP) that reflects and aligns with the CBE Three-Year Education Plan as well as school specific priorities. Schools also report on these results in the School Improvement Results Report each year.

Our School Development Plan for the 2023-2024 school year has now been posted to the Mahogany Website.

Winter Concert

Tickets will be coming home on Monday via your child. Please check their backpacks. Each child will receive 2 numbered tickets. Each must present their tickets at the door on the evening of the concert. Please ensure you have your tickets with you. If you are unable or do not need your tickets for the evening performances, please send them back to the school and let your child’s teacher know. All additional tickets will be handed out through a lottery process based on parent requests. Thank you for your support as we are working to be as equitable as possible within our capacity constraints.

Concert Parking: We have worked with Divine Mercy School and parking is available in their staff parking lot for all 3 concert evenings. In return, our parking lot will be available to Divine Mercy Families on December 7.

There are no tickets required for our afternoon performances. Additionally, all students will see their siblings and peers perform during the afternoon performances.

School Council & Fundraising Association

Our next Mahogany School Council and Fundraising Association Meetings will be held on Tuesday, December 5 at 6:00pm. Please join us to be a part of this amazing school!

Mahogany Coffee Fundraiser

We are heading into the last push for our Coffee Fundraiser. We need you! Here is the order form under Resources.

Not only is the coffee delicious, it will make a great gift with our beautiful Mahogany Logo on each bag. Please consider purchasing a bag or two to make your shopping easier and help us get that incredible accessible piece of playground equipment for all our children.

• we have received 89 online orders and 4 in person orders for coffee! THANK YOU.
• Our fundraising program for coffee has a minimum order of only 150 bags required to roast the coffee.
• The more you purchase vs. going to the grocery store, the more profit the school makes.
• Once completed, this project will benefit all families in the community.
