This week is Family Literacy Week! We look forward to many fun events throughout the week to celebrate reading! We will be having a school SPIRIT Day on Thursday where staff and students are asked to dress as your favorite book character. We look forward to the creative ideas you come up with.

Connection Corner

Thank you to families who have been adjusting their travelling to school plans with weather and for safety. We appreciate that many of you have been using alternative ways to get to school. Please note that when parking in the community, it is important to be respectful of the road rules and courteous to our neighbors. Avoid parking blocking or into the crosswalks, on corner and please do not park in front of community members’ driveways. We are stronger together and we all play a part in keeping students and community residents safe.

Updates and Administrivia

The Golden Broom

We will be beginning a new student leadership initiative next week called ‘The Golden Broom’. Ask your child about how they can make a difference in keeping our school tidy. We are helping our students learn about taking care of their belongings and their environment. Each week, Mrs. Kohan and Mrs. Hewitt will be working with classes to see if they are meeting their goals and then on Fridays, one lucky class per week will be awarded “The Golden Broom” for their classroom. Mr. Rico will be helping us by showing ways our students can help out.

School Council

Our next Mahogany School Council and Fundraising Association Meetings will be held on Tuesday, February 6th at 6:00pm. Please join us to be a part of this amazing school.
