Hello Mahogany Families,
Well, we definitely had an exciting week with a lot on the go! Thank you to all of our participants in family literacy week. We loved having students share their favorite books and it was fun to see them taking on the characters too! From full moons to melting snow, we are grateful that the weather has taken a turn for the better as we are able to get outside and play.
As we head into February, we are reminded everywhere that Valentine’s Day is on the horizon which is our visual for remembering to spread kindness and love. February is also Black History month and an opportunity to listen, learn and enter conversations with curiosity. It is always exciting to turn the page on the calendar and look towards all the possibilities ahead.

- Congratulations to Ms. Naomi and Ms. Kelly’s classes for being the first winners of “The Golden Broom” award – we have seen such an improvement in students taking responsibility for their belongings!
Staffing
Grade 4
We have exciting news to share with you. As you may already be aware, Mrs. Megan Baron is expecting her second child in February. Mrs. Baron will be taking some time before her baby comes and her last day with us at Mahogany School will be Friday, January 26, 2024. All of us at Mahogany School wish Mrs. Baron the best and look forward to the new addition to our Mahogany family. We look forward to welcoming Mrs. Lisa Moe takes over the class beginning February 12, 2024, until the end of the year. Ms. Armstrong will be bridging the class from January 29-February 9, 2024.
Kindergarten
Mrs. Elisa Escobedo will be returning to Mahogany in February after spending time over the last year with her baby. Mrs. Escobedo will be returning on Monday, February 12, 2024. As anticipated, Mrs. Moe’s last day with the kindergarten class will be on Friday, February 9, 2024. Mrs. Moe will begin with the Grade 4 class on February 12, 2024.

Our next Mahogany School Council and Fundraising Association Meetings will be held on Tuesday, February 6th at 6:00pm. Please join us to be a part of this amazing school.
