Hello Mahogany Families, 

The end of the school year is always a whirlwind of activity, emotions, and transitions for our staff, students, and families. This time marks not only the end of one chapter but also the beginning of new adventures and opportunities that lie ahead. We reflect on the work we have done so far this year and anticipate the excitement of new beginnings after a summer break. Over the next few weeks together we will share learning and celebrate the growth we have seen since September.

As we prepare to bid farewell to the current school year and welcome the summer break, let us reflect on the journey we've undertaken together. Take time to remember the moments of triumph, the challenges overcome, and the bonds strengthened along the way with each other and with your students. These last few weeks together are an opportunity to enjoy all the hard work that has gotten you to this point in the year. When you truly look back you may be surprised at all that has transpired – it is always easy for us to forget where we came from!

In the words of Walt Disney, "All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them." Let's embrace the spirit of adventure and possibility and let's approach the future with optimism, courage, and a firm belief in the transformative power of education.

June 26 - Last day of school for AM kindergarten

** Last Day of School: Thursday, June 27 is an Early Dismissal Day – 12:00pm for all students

Sports Day

Friday, June 14 will be our second Annual Sports Day. Please note that this is a student and staff only school event, not a public event. Younger siblings, volunteers and family members are not included in this day for safety reasons and only school staff have permission to take pictures and record video for school documentation. Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing, applies sunscreen before school and brings a water bottle. There will be many outdoor activities with some indoor activities included. We will provide alternate indoor activities if the weather is inclement. Thank you to our School Council and Fundraising Associations for their donation of a treat for our Mahogany students, each student will receive a freezie. Please let your child's homeroom teacher know if you would not like them to participate in this treat.

Soccer Updates

Soccer continues to be a catalyst for verbal and physical incidents. This past week, we have continued to see serious safety incidents and concerns escalation, so we paused soccer during lunch recess on Wednesday and Thursday. Supervisors will be working to engage students in smaller games with a rotating sign up for future lunch recess times next week and beyond. This will allow us to support students in smaller groupings and provide a safe environment for students to play soccer and for supervisors to reinforce rules and safe play. We are also putting alternative activities in place for students not playing in the supervised games.

Our next Mahogany School Council and Fundraising Association Meetings will be held on Tuesday, September 24 at 6:00pm. Please join us to be a part of this amazing school.
