Hello Mahogany Families,

The longer days being more opportunities for connection and learning. As spring approaches, let’s celebrate the small moments of kindness and cooperation that helps students grow both in and out of the classroom.

We look forward to learning with your children next week before the break and of course visiting with parents online during conferences. Have a great weekend!

Swimming | Special Request: Male Volunteers

We thank the many volunteers who have already indicated they can assist us. As we prepare for our swimming program in April and May, we are seeking male volunteers to assist us in making this a great experience for students. What volunteering for swimming looks like:

  • Drive to Seton YMCA on your own (no need to ride the bus)
  • Arrive at Seton YMCA by 8:50am
  • Supervise in the boys change room encouraging the students to change quickly and move out to the pool deck as soon as possible
  • Once students are on the pool deck and with their swimming instructor, volunteers are asked to volunteer through the viewing area
  • 5 mins before the end of each lesson, be available in the change area to encourage the students to dry off, get changed and ready to board the bus
  • Repeat for each additional class that arrives for swimming
  • Parent volunteers are welcome to bring coffee/snacks/books/work while in the viewing area and students are in lessons
  • We have two dates for swimming:
  • April 14 – 17 (9am – 12:45pm)
  • May 12 – 15 (9am – 1:15)pm
  • Just a reminder, parents need to have up-to-date Police Clearance. Please reach out to Michelle Haylow in the office or via email mahaylow@cbe.ab.ca for further information and thank you for considering volunteering
