Hello Mahogany Families
As we head into the last week before spring break, I am reminded of how this time of year seems to keep us in a bit of limbo...the weather warms up and we toss our winter boots and jackets, then it surprises us with snow, and we pull them all out again. The ice melts and the ground below reveals a hint of new growth, grass and plants, only to be covered once more in a blanket of much needed moisture. The clocks change ahead, the days become longer, and we start to head outdoors more and more. We feel the tug of spring as we walk slowly away from winter and welcome all the new that the season change brings with it. We have shared a lot of incredible learning out over the last few months, and we welcome our families in to celebrate in student learning with us at Student-led Conferences next week and here we are getting ready for whatever adventures a week away from school brings. Time moves forward, sometimes seemingly faster or slower than we expect and yet there is always a new day on the horizon.
We know you the students are tired; we know they are also energized; we know that this dichotomy is difficult to navigate some days and we appreciate you for all you do to keep the routines going and students coming to school, always moving forward.
Enjoy the weather this weekend and take time for yourselves.
Take care everyone,
❤️
Tracy and Christine

Grade 2 Cell Phone Drive
The Grade 2 students in Mrs. Maronese's class would like to help Western lowland gorillas. They are critically endangered. Their habitat is mined for a mineral called Coltan. Coltan is used to make new cell phones. When you recycle your phones, their habitat doesn't need to be mined to make new phones. We are holding a cell phone drive where you can donate your old cell phones or handheld electronics from March 18th to April 5th. They can be donated at Mahogany Beach Club or our school office. All cell phones will be donated to the Calgary Zoo. Thank you for your support!
Please watch our video or visit Calgary Zoo's website to learn more. https://youtu.be/GVwGZWk6p_Y
Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found area is once again over full. All items will be displayed during conferences, please take home your items. All items remaining after Student-Led Conferences will be donated
Purdys Orders
Our School Fundraising Association is working hard to get your Purdys orders sorted and ready to go. All orders will be available for pick up during Student-led Conferences. They will be organized in our main Gathering Space – Please see a parent volunteer to pick up your order (we know some of these are gifts).
