Mahogany This Week
Dear Mahogany Families,
For those of you who celebrated Halloween over the weekend, we hope it was a lot of fun for you and your families. The students enjoyed seeing each other's costumes on Friday. It was also a lot of fun to see Grade Team Teacher & staff costumes.
Happy Diwali to all families celebrating later this week!
Sincerely,
Jill Scarrow, Christine Hewitt & Leah Clare
New Crosswalk with Beacons
Huge thank you to The City of Calgary & for installing the pedestrian activated crosswalk & beacons on Mahogany Blvd. We have appreciated the support of the Ward 12 Councilor's office, CBE Transportation, & of course, our School Council members who all contributed to this request. Pedestrian safety is paramount, and we hope this new crosswalk helps.
Kindergarten Coffee & Conversation – November 2 @1:45pm
We’re excited to welcome our Kindergarten families to our first afternoon Coffee & Conversation of the school year on Monday, November 2, from 1:45–2:15 p.m.
This will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with other afternoon Kindergarten families, meet new friends, and learn more about our Mahogany School community. We will be joined by two members of our School Council, who will share information about the roles of the School Council and the Fundraising Association, along with ways families can get involved and support our school. Our Speech-Language Pathologist will also introduce herself and share how she supports Kindergarten students with their speech and language development in the classroom. We hope you can join us for a cup of coffee and some conversation! We look forward to seeing you there.
School Council – November 3rd @ 6:00pm
Please join us at 6:00pm on November 3rd. We will be hearing from members of our Grade Two Teaching Team who will be sharing information about the Open Minds offsite learning experience. We have 12 classrooms participating in Open Minds this year! Students at our school could not participate in this learning without the support of parent volunteers – thank you! The Mahogany School Fundraising Association meeting will occur directly after the School Council Meeting. All parents and guardians are welcome.
