Dear Mahogany Families,

Thank you for your generosity!

Our latest total of donations for the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope was $4 998. We appreciated the families who came out last Friday to cheer students on. The Terry Fox Run is an annual event that brings community together, and we were grateful to Mrs. Theberge and our Leadership students for organizing the morning for us. Thank you, also, for supporting our Scholastic Book Fair. In just a few hours, $3 036 was the amount of money raised through sales that Mrs. Gall will put towards expanding our library collection with new books.

Fostering Safe & Respectful School Communities – A Message from Superintendent Pitman

This school year, CBE is taking action to make expectations that reinforce the importance of respectful interactions and positive learning environments clearer and more accessible. The first of these steps include:

  • We have updated Administrative Regulation 5002, Responsibilities of Parents.
  • Beginning in October, new signage will be introduced in CBE schools and worksites outlining expectations for respectful conduct.

At Mahogany School, we value opportunities to work in partnership with parents and deeply appreciate the shared responsibility around creating a safe & respectful learning community.

Reminder: Kindergarten Coffee & Conversation

We’re excited to welcome our Kindergarten families to our first Coffee & Conversation of the school year on Monday, October 5 from 8:10–8:40 a.m.

This will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with other Kindergarten families, meet new friends, learn more about Mahogany School, and chat about topics that are important to our Kindergarten community.

We hope you can join us for a cup of coffee and some conversation! We look forward to seeing you there.

Casino Fundraising – Please Volunteer (Only 8 shifts left to fill!)

On October 14 & 15, we’ll be at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino raising money for our school, and this could be HUGE. Every shift we fill brings in about $2,000 for our school. Which means…40 shifts × ~$2,000 = potentially $80,000 for our kids. This isn't just fundraising for the sake of fundraising. This is money going directly back into our school and creating experiences, resources, and opportunities for our kids. No experience is needed. You’ll get training; it’s casual and fun, and food is provided! Volunteers can be grandparents, neighbors, aunts, uncles, or the person behind you in the grocery line. They do not need a school volunteer form or have a police record check.  CLICK HERE to volunteer. Please email: mahoganyschoolfa@gmail.com with any inquiries.
