Conference Booking

School Council / Parent Society
Our next School Council / Fundraising Association Meeting will be on October 3, 2023, at 6:00pm at Mahogany School held in person at Mahogany School. All parents/guardians are welcome to join! Doors will be open at 5:45pm. Please join us in the Gathering Space. This will be our AGM – looking for members for open positions!
National Day of Truth and Reconciliation-Orange Shirt Day|
The third annual City of Calgary, Calgary Board of Education and Calgary Catholic School District ceremonial opening of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Fort Calgary (750 9th Ave SE). The Indigenous Education Team is looking for CBE Indigenous student dancers to perform at this event. See poster under Resources.
School Swag
We have super exciting news! The students are so excited to wear their school swag, we have re-opened the Mahogany School Swag Store. We also had a number of families reaching out for swag for themselves and Christmas gifts.
We have switched to an amazing local vendor, Big Mountain Activewear. You can choose from some high-quality T-shirts, hoodies, sweaters, hats and toques. They come in our beautiful school colors with our school logo. A fashionable way to represent our amazing school. You may have seen some of the school swag on teachers and students on Friday’s. We will continue to encourage students to wear their swag on Fridays along with teachers to show our school pride.

Orders must be submitted no later than Sunday, October 1. The store will be closed on October 1st and no orders will be able to be accepted after that date.
***** For any parents ordering swag for CHRISTMAS GIFTS please send an email to your child's teacher when you order (do not wait until it has arrived at the school). They will then contact you when it arrives at the school and not give it to the student. ****
Information about your orders
All orders are paid directly to Big Mountain Activewear through the link. There are youth and adult options to choose from. Any questions regarding products, please direct them to Big Mountain via email @bigmountain.ca or by phone 403-277-5670. There are no exchanges or refunds. Orders will be delivered to the school in late October. Once orders have been delivered to the school, they will be delivered to student’s homerooms in individually wrapped packages (per family order). We will be opening the store again in the new year and may have some new swag options.

Fun Lunch
Thank you to Jenny Taylor for organizing our Fun Lunch / Snacks! This is a parent purchase option through Healthy Hunger. Everything is now ready to go for families to order from the Healthy Hunger website. You will need to create an account if you are new to the program.
Our first order is the Mahogany Logo cookies - welcome back! The fun snack day is Sept. 21, 2023 making the cut off day for families to order Sept. 16 at 11:59p.m. (Cut off day is always 5 days prior to the event). Please check the Healthy Hunger website for details and dates. Please visit https://healthyhunger.ca to create an account. Once you are set up add “Mahogany School” and select your child's Teacher name from the list.
We alternate between healthy lunch options for Grades 1-5 and snacks for Grades K-5.
Forms and Fees
You will receive an email from CBE shortly with details on how to access beginning of the year forms. All forms are to be completed online.
Individual classes will be sending a “getting to know you” form home next week, these are to be completed and returned to the school.
Medical Forms
Please complete a medical form if your child has any allergies or medical conditions we need to be aware of. This form is also to be completed for any students who require medication at school or medication to be administered.
No Medication can be administered without a form on file.
Please note – most medication is kept and distributed in the office (exceptions include inhalers and EpiPens)
MyCBE Account
Create a MyCBE Account. Please make sure you have registered for your MyCBE account. Contact Trish Ross in the main office if you require your child’s CBE ID.
Communication (Phone, Email, Website)
Our phone number is 403-817-3448 and it is in operation. We also have a school email which is monitored. It is mahogany@cbe.ab.ca . This will be your main point of contact with the school and will eventually become our primary email for reporting student absences and lates.
