Hello Mahogany Families!

As we plan and prepare for our upcoming parent-led conferences next week, we want to take a moment to reflect on the changes around us. Just as the vibrant colors of fall emerge from the fading warmth of summer, we too have the opportunity to grow and strengthen our connections with families. Parent-led conferences are such a great opportunity for us to learn about our students, and you, their families as well as making some amazing yearlong connections with new families while for some of you also connecting with those of siblings we may have had now that we have been here for a couple of years. Family / School connections really do make such a huge impact on the day-to-day work with students, and we appreciate that you take the time to foster and build these relationships with us as we continue to build our Mahogany Story Chapter 3 together.

As we head into the last official days of summer and the Fall Equinox, let’s embrace this transition as a window of firsts...a chance to share in progress and celebrate achievements. We are looking forward to seeing all of you at the conferences and witnessing the impact we can make together!

Mahogany School Fundraiser - Paul’s Pizza Shawnessy

• Make it a family Pizza night tonight and order from Paul’s Pizza – a portion of tonight’s proceeds go directly to Mahogany School!

From the Music Room

• Hand Chime Ensemble (for chosen grade 5) starts on Monday 2:30 – 3:30 PM
• Mahogany Choir (grade 3,4 and 5) starts on Thursday at lunchtime in the music room.

Orange Shirt Day

Please wear orange on Wednesday, September 25. We will be recognizing Orange Shirt Day which is on September 30 and a non-instructional day for students.

Parent-Led Conferences

Remember to sign up for conferences before the end of the day, Wednesday, Sept 24. Log in and choose Conference Manager from your MyCBE account.

School Swag

Mahogany school apparel is ready to order! Please use the link below to order your items. All items will be shipped to the school and distributed. If you are ordering a gift and want to keep your order ‘secret’ from your child, please email mahogany@cbe.ab.ca and we will keep it in the office for you to pick up. Orders are open starting today and the link will close on October 6. We encourage staff and students to wear swag on Fridays for school spirit and encourage students to wear their mahogany clothing for field trips too, and of course any day to show you school spirit is great.

Our first School Council Meeting will be on September 24, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Mahogany School followed by our first Fundraising Association Meeting will be held in person at Mahogany School All parents/guardians are welcome to join! Doors will be open at 5:45 PM please join us in the Gathering Space.
