“Reconnect: /re·con·nect/: to connect again; to re-establish a bond of communication or emotion”  

This week, we had the privilege of witnessing the beauty of reconnection. After our unexpected break, there was a special energy in the air as our school community came back together. Staff reconnected with one another—sharing stories, smiles, and ideas as they prepared to welcome students back. Students reconnected with friends they had missed, their excitement filling the school field as they searched for familiar faces and teachers. Families reconnected at the school doors, sharing hugs, encouragement, and the joy of a fresh start. 

There is power in coming back together. Relationships are at the heart of our well-being, and reconnection helps restore our sense of belonging. Each renewed friendship, each shared moment, strengthens the bonds that make our community whole. 

As we settle back into our routines, let’s take time to celebrate both the old and the new reconnecting with those we’ve missed and reaching out to form new connections. Ask your child(ren) who they reconnected with today, or who they reached out to for the first time. Together, we can continue to grow a community that supports, understands, and uplifts one another. We are so appreciative for all our Mahogany families today more than ever. Wishing you all a fun filled weekend ahead.

Weekly Wonder | How will you re-connect? 

UPDATES and ADMINISTRIVIA|  

With the labor action behind us, the search is on for a new Principal for Mahogany. I will continue to support our students, families, and staff for a little while longer to ensure we have a smooth transition. I will send updates when we have them. Looking forward to supporting this amazing school a little longer.

Our School Survey 

All grade 4 and 5 students will be participating in the OurSchool Survey. This is an annual CBE survey. 

Fall Back-Time Change 

Reminder that this is the weekend that we ‘fall back’. Remember to turn your clock back 1 hour before you go to bed on Saturday! 

Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch 

A friendly reminder to place your order for the upcoming week's snacks/lunches. Please go to www.healthyhunger.ca to place your order. Once you know your Child’s teacher name, you can use this link to sign up for one or all the snacks and lunches for the entire year!  

School Council / Parent Society| 

Please Join us! School Council and Parent Society is a great chance to find out what is happening in Mahogany and be involved in your child’s school. The school council meets on the second Tuesday of each month. Our next School Council Meeting will be on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 6:00pm at Mahogany School followed by our next Fundraising Association Meeting will follow, all parents/guardians are welcome to join! Front Dorr will be open at 5:45pm. Please join us in the Gathering Space at the front of the school. We look forward to seeing you all there! Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 6:00pm.
